About Maura Jasper
Maura Jasper is a visual artist and filmmaker whose work explores the intersections of history, pop culture and mass media as influences that inform our individual and collective sense of self. Her work often functions as a bridge between art and non-art experiences, inviting participation and bringing people back into the process of cultural production. She has exhibited and screened at venues such as Artist's Space, Vox Populi, and the Institute for Contemporary Art in Boston. Maura is also known for her album art and stage visuals for the band Dinosaur Jr.
Born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, she has been a resident of Muncie since 2008, where has organized and produced numerous pop up media exhibitions. In 2018 she was the Artistic Director for Muncie's That One Film Festival, and she also hosts Death Factory, a monthly open screening of experimental time based art.
