About Kara DuQuette
I am an artist, Muncie native, project manager, and educator. I left Muncie after graduating from Burris high to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I have an eclectic artistic vision and feel for media. I have taught art to preschool, primary, and secondary age groups. I have conducted classes and workshops featuring body arts and puppet making for college students and adult learners. While I lived in Chicago, I took graduate courses at Columbia College Chicago in Art, Entertainment, and Media Management, and worked in the areas of Interdisciplinary Arts and Educational Studies. I now live in Muncie Indiana with my awesome artist husband, Michael. I work at Ball State University in the Office of Immersive Learning as a project manager. I earned a dual master’s degree in the summer of 2019 and am currently working toward a doctorate. I am an advocate for the arts, education, social justice, and equity. I connect people, ideas, resources, and services to facilitate community-engaged Immersive Learning partnerships. I enjoy working with community partners, student-driven teams, and faculty mentors to create high-impact Immersive Learning course project experiences that aim to solve societal problems and fill needs that benefit and better our entire community.
