Delaware County has been my home since the fall of 1976. During the past 41 years my husband and I have raised two wonderful children and we have two terrific grandsons. I have an undergraduate degree from Indiana University beginning my degree work in ballet and modern dance and completing it in elementary education. I also have a Master’s Degree in elementary education from Ball State University.
Combining my interest of dance with education I taught Jazzercize classes in Delaware County for nearly three years. I have worked in secretarial positions at Ivy Tech State College and Ball State University and was the unit coordinator for the Delaware County Unit of the American Cancer Society for several years.
My degree has been put to use in the community through my volunteer work: Girl Scout Leader; Sunday School teacher; various educational activities as a member of the Delaware County Master Gardeners Association. A love of art and an appreciation of nature have always been a part of my life; as a child in the form of piano and dance lessons and visits to our National Parks. As an adult, I’ve found a way to combine the two into a business called “Center of Attention.” I create long-lasting floral arrangements and wreaths using natural elements as much as possible; dried flowers and grasses, grapevines, nuts and seed pods, grasses, wood etc. I also use handmade fabricated flowers: burlap and satin. My creations allow people to enjoy the beauty of nature indoors. I have set up shop in my home and I’m open for business whenever we’re home. The shop is located at 2490 S. Andrews Rd. in Yorktown and my phone number is 765-759-8721.
